The PbO2 Electrode, is an electrode where the α type lead dioxide and β type lead dioxide are coated on the titanium substrate in layers. Since this electrode has a high oxygen generation overvoltage, the organic matter and etc. in waste water can be decomposed efficiently by anodic oxidation. When water electrolysis is performed with this electrode, high concentration ozone can be generated therefore, this electrode can also be utilized as an anode for electrolysis ozone generation.
(The PbO2 Electrode was commercialized by joint development between the Agency of Industrial Science and Technology, National Chemical Laboratory for Industry (currently: Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry; Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Japan and the National Institute of Materials and Chemical Research) and DENORA PERMELEC ELECTRODE LTD.)
Features
This electrode has high oxidization ability (high oxygen generation overvoltage).
