Our History

Our company was established on June 30, 1969, under funding from MITSUI & CO., LTD., Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., and De Nora (Industrie De Nora S.p.A) of Italy to launch the Mixed Metal Oxide electrodes business.

Since the company's foundation, DSA®/DSE® electrode has enjoyed a solid reputation for its high quality based on special development efforts.

By providing electrodes and other related technologies to various industrial sectors, including the soda industry, we have contributed to efforts to save energy and develop the electrochemistry industry.

Since we became a wholly-owned subsidiary of De Nora in 2010, we have continued to pursue technical innovation, not just for us but on a group-wide basis as well, playing a role in the development function of the De Nora group and building on our critical DSA®/DSE® electrode technology.

Our DSA®/DSE® electrode technology, which is also applied to the technologies involved in water treatment, chlorination, healthcare, energy consumption reduction, and environmental impact reduction, has much more potential.

In order to develop this technology further, we inherited the environmental water treatment, electrolyzer manufacturing, and R&D business from Chlorine Engineers Corp., Ltd. in 2013, starting the shift from an "electrode manufacturer" to an "electrolyzer system manufacturer."

Moreover, to make it clear that our company is a member of the De Nora group, which boasts an international presence in the electrochemistry industry, we changed our company name from Permelec Electrode Ltd. to De Nora Permelec Ltd in September 2015.

Undergoing a major transformation that began in 2010, we are committed to serving as a "green technology enterprise" and will keep contributing to society by providing the marketplace with innovative technologies, products, and services that meet social needs, such as environmental impact reduction.
